Skydive Group Shot

Thank you to all of the amazing supporters who bravely jumped out of a plane at the weekend for PLANETS!

Yet again our Jump for PLANETS event was a great success with perfect weather conditions and smiles from everyone that took part.  We imagine they are still smiling two days on!  We’ve had some great feedback from the staff at APA Netheravon. They loved meeting everyone and have commented on how positive everyone was. Organiser Tori Caine commented ‘there was a great atmosphere on the jumpline with so many solo and wingsuit competitors joining in the fun too.  I am incredibly proud of how well everyone did.’

A special mention must go to Margaret Spalding who was the last and most senior of our tandem volunteers yesterday. Margaret was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last year and has been undergoing chemotherapy to shrink the tumour. An inspirational lady who thoroughly enjoyed her skydive. Well done Maggie!

A big thanks to Becky Brown for organising the brilliant raffle. This helped boost our funds by £225! The winners were drawn by Chief Instructor Mark Bayada. Becky Pearce won an iPad Mini, Roxanne from the canteen won champagne, kindly donated by Bernie and Zoe and Alice won PLANETS goodies. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets.

The caterer, Emma, donated £50 from the BBQ profits and looks forward to supporting us again in the future.

Once adding our merchandise sales to the figures above and your estimates of sponsorship so far, our total for the event is £6164.11. We expect this to grow as each of you update us with accurate figures and ‘after event’ donations. This is a fabulous amount that you should all be extremely proud of.

Thank you from the PLANETS Team for your continued support but a special thank you to the wonderful Tori Caine for organising yet another fantastic event.  Tori became involved with PLANETS to thank the medical team for the care that her Mum, Linda Caine, received for pancreatic cancer and has become part of the core team who have helped to drive PLANETS forward over the last few years.  The success of this event was made all the sweeter by the fact that Tori was joined on the day by her Mum who has reached the incredible milestone of 10 years since her diagnosis.  Linda is pictured below with Margaret Spalding, two inspirational ladies.
