Tim Douglas will be attempting the Great Wall of China marathon on behalf of PLANETS on 17th May. This is one of the world’s most challenging marathons, and includes 5,164 steps which need to be climbed, temperatures which have reached highs of 35°C in the last few years and various types of terrain to be traversed. Tim said “Since my father Ian has been treated for NETs at Southampton for the last four years it didn’t take me long to decide that Planets was the charity I wanted to support by doing this marathon.”
This isn’t the first adventure Tim has undertaken for PLANETS. In 2013 he and his father undertook the Annapurna trek in Nepal. Details of the trek have been published on Amazon as both a paperback and e-book titled “A Novice Trekker in Nepal”. Proceeds are donated to PLANETS.
More details of the challenge, and an opportunity to support Tim in his quest to raise funds for PLANETS, are available at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TimDouglasGreatWallMarathon
Good luck to Tim and thank you for supporting PLANETS!!
